October

To say that we were been busy the month of October is an understatement. November doesn’t look much better.

The first week of October we spent getting ready for the AZ State Fair. Steve entered one of his beer’s and I entered 16 jams, jellies, and pickels. Steve’s beer ended up with a first place! I had several first, second and third winners. I am not sure how well I did because we didn’t write it down. But all of my goodies are avaliable for purchase from our store.

On Saturday the 8th we left on a road trip to Kansas City. We on the way out made stops in Gallup, NM, Albuq, NM, Santa Fe, NM and Dodge City, KS. We spent 3 days in KC with Bess and Tom and had a really great time. The drive home was long but much more scenic then the drive there. On the way back we drive thru Denver to Eagle, Co then to Moab, UT and thru Monument Valley. As we were just north of Phonenix I-17 was closed due to an accident so we took back roads home thru Payson which made it even longer than expected.

The whole next week after we got back from our KC trip, I spent sick in bed. I had the same thing back in Sept. I think it was viral but it sure did suck!

Then on the 25th, I was off again. This time I flew to Mason City to spend some time with my sister and then I drove to Des Moines for a wedding of a high school friend. I had an awesome time seeing everyone.

I flew home Sunday the 30th so that I could go trick-or-treating with Nolan. The kid tried to walk me to death!

Some adoption news to report, our home study was submitted to Maricopa Co. Juvinile Court on the 27th. Approval on that should take 4-6 weeks from the time of filing. Then we move on to dealing with the Federal Gov’t, yeah!

Thanks for the update. I’m glad to see you stopped at Philmont Scout Ranch. I never got to go there when I was a scout. I hope Nolan gets a chance to be a Boy Scout. Looking forward to your Thanksgiving visit. Grandad Steve
