Funny story about buying the new car. Steve wasn’t too excited about going to Peoria (50 miles away) to look at a new car last Saturday after he spent the week in Charlotte. He begrudingly agreed to go and drive. As we got on I10 the Isuzu starting making a funny sound. We assumed that it was the tires since it needed new tires. About a 1/4 mile from the tunnel, the right rear tire blew. Thank God Steve was driving. He’s handling was amazing. I would have ended up in the median. Needless to say, chaning a blown tire on the interstate was a sign that the Isuzu needed to go! Despite showing up with a donut on the car with a piece of trim missing and a blowing tire in the trunk, I think we got a good deal on the van.

We are off this weekend, in our new ride, to Pinetop. Nolan has Good Friday and Easter Monday off of school so we thought we would get away and relax.

No news on the adoption. Just waiting.

Nolan started Little League . He moved up to coach pitch and it is much better than t-ball at the Y. He has a great coach who is of course, a Cub fan. Nolan is one of the youngest on the team. I think all but one other are in either 1st or 2nd grade.

We went to Vegas for Spring Break with my parents. Mom and I did not fare well at the slots but we did get in some quality shopping and several dollar daquries. I’d say we had a great time but Mom, Dad, Nolan and I all ended up with the flu. It was a little wierd in that everyone but me had a fever and everyone but Nolan was down for the whole next week. Steve didn’t stay in Vegas the whole week or he probably would have gotten sick as well.

This past weekend we were in Tucson to celebrate Grandma Julie’s 90th birthday. Grandma is amazing. She’ll probably outlive all of us. Steve’s sister Bess and her fiancee Tom flew in from KC for the party. We had a great time.

So, now this week Steve is in Charlotte, NC doing some training for work. He gets home tomorrow night.

As for me for the last few weeks if I wasn’t out of town or in bed dying I was at one doctor or another. In the past month or so I’ve seen the neurologist, rheumatologist. opthomologist, oncologist, allergist, OB/GYN (twice) and as if I hadn’t been violated enough, the dentist. Not much by way of progress. I still have my gall bladder despite continuing to have that pain, I have contemplated taking it out myself but then that would lead me to a psychciatrist and I don’t need any more doctors.

I’ll try not to let it go so long between future posts but things are pretty boring around here right now. .

This was my first attempt at a braided bread and it turned out pretty darn good!

Now we have to be patient and wait. Which is going to be hard for me because patience is not my strong suit!

Nolan made this a few weeks ago at school. He’s pretty excited.

The labor I put into it was more than giving birth to Nolan.

We went to Vegas over the MLK weekend and did birthday’s Hofbrauhaus style. Steve did a shot of jager and got paddled and Nolan did the chicken dance!

On Sunday we went to Fleming’s to celebrate! Can’t pass up their prime rib special! And took my parents along to celebrate their anniversay and my dad’s birthday which are in Feb.

My final cake decorating class was on Monday and our last project was to decorate a cake. So, Steve got his birthday cake early.

But that’s not all. We have a happy hour for Steve on Friday and then Nolan’s big birthday bash on Sunday! It should be fun.

This is my first attempt. Mind you I have until the 29th for perfection. No pressure!
